Harvard Club Holiday Spirits
Holiday Drinkmaking with a Harvard Student Mixologist
Tuesday, December 22, 8:00pm
You can cancel our annual Winter Social, but you can't cancel holiday fun. In a normal year we would have been gathering around now for the club's holiday kick-off celebration, but instead, we're welcoming the expert bartenders from Harvard Student Agencies bartending course to show us how to mix some sweet and tasty holiday cocktails. Here's how it works:
- Register for the Zoom session today
- Gather the ingredients for each cocktail we'll mix (click on the cocktail for the ingredients)
White Christmas Martini (Mocktail: Replace vodka and liquor with chocolate milk or chocolate syrup) - Old-Fashioned (Mocktail: Replace bourbon with barley tea)
Crimson Margarita (Mocktail: Replace tequila and liquor with and additional oz. of cranberry juice)
Cosmopolitan (Mocktail: Replace vodka and Triple Sec with a splash of orange juice or orange zest)
- Gather the supplies. If you don't have the supplies, use a common household item
A shaker = A reusable water bottle
A jigger = A Solo cup (bottom line is one ounce)
A strainer = Two cups (our bartender will show us the technique) or a vegetable strainer - Zoom link: We'll send it to you on the day of the event.
Our bartender will show us how to mix our drinks while entertaining us and talking about life for a current Harvard student. And of course, it's a holiday party so we can mix and mingle while we sip our delicious homemade cocktails.
The cost is $10 per person. Remember, our bartenders are all Harvard students and are trained mixologists. They're usually working all the fancy holiday parties around Boston/Cambridge this season so we're helping them replace lost earnings.
So we can't have a Winter Social, but that doesn't mean we have to stick our heads in the snow. Let's celebrate the holidays Crimson style!
