harvard-Yale regatta weekend June 6-8

Pre-Race Luncheon Thursday June 6th

Each year, the New London service clubs – the Kiwanians, the Lions and the Rotarians – host the Harvard-Yale Regatta luncheon on the Thursday before the Regatta. The event celebrates the oldest intercollegiate competition in the nation and its connection to southeastern Connecticut and New London, in particular. The luncheon includes a welcome by the Mayor of New London, remarks by the Harvard and Yale head men’s heavyweight coaches, the singing of Harvard and Yale fight songs, a keynote speaker (this year Yale men’s heavyweight crew Captain Derek Johnson, ’11), and the drawing of the race lanes. This year, the luncheon is June 6th at noon at the CDR Merle Smith Club on the campus of the United States Coast Guard Academy, 31 Mohegan Ave Pkwy, New London. Program is from 12:30pm to 1:30pm.   RSVP is required - $20 per person (pay at the door)

Contact organizer Judge Leeland Cole-Chu (leelandcolechu@gmail.com or 860.235.0882) by noon June 3rd with the names of all in your party for the guest list and meal count. Parking is free, but all persons entering the Academy have IDs checked. Early arrival is highly recommended.
